Knife Safety: 10 Tips That Will Keep You or Others Safe

 

          Knives can be very useful appliances, as well as dangerous tools. #1 when a knife is in use by you or another, always be sure to pay close attention to the blade itself. Be sure to give the knife your full attention without being distracted. Be very focused. #2 when the knife you have is sharp, the knife is safer. Be sure to always keep the blade sharp. If the cutting edge of the knife is dull, it will require more force when performing various cut. You are more likely to slip when using as dull knife.

          #3 be sure to always keep the knife shiny clean. Make sure to keep the handle part of the knife free of debris and dirt. A clean knife will allow the job to be executed safely. #4 never check the sharpness of the cutting edge of a knife with any body parts for this can be very dangerous.

          #5 always cut away from yourself, never toward. This will prevent any accidents from occurring intentionally. #6 knives are not toys to kid around with, or use for unintended purposes. Do not replace for a hammer, screwdriver, ice pick, etc.

          #7 make sure to wash the knife you have used in the sink for safety. This will prevent any mishaps or bacteria from staying on the blade of the knife. Make sure to dry it precisely and place/put away in a safe spot. #8 if you are not highly trained as a professional magician who plays with knives, do not mess around or joke around with knives. Do not throw, juggle, or flip any knife in the air. You aren’t an expert who can that.

          #9 “Let it go, let it go!” If a happens to fall by any chance while it is in use, let your reflexes have a brake and never attempt to catch a falling knife, Make sure to stand clear and let it fall to the ground. This will prevent any catastrophe. #10 always research the way to use a knife for a specific cut you want to cut. Never attempt to just wing it without any previous background knowledge. Us the right knife for the cut that is going to be used at that moment.
